Prompt: 060. Drink
Word Count: 2481

Summary: Kurogane decides it's finally time to teach Fai how to drink responsibly.
Author's Notes: I don't own Tsubasa and never will because I could hardly imagine taking it away from CLAMP.

This fic is spoilorific for 125.

I couldn't decide if I wanted crack, angst, or fluff, so we ended up with a little bit of each.

Challenge table here.

“Hey,” he said, slurring the word and feeling a bit light-headed. He may have been new to this whole situation, but he was fairly certain feeling woozy was not good and a sign for the other man to stop. “Hey,” he tried again a little bit louder, his voice croaking.

Fai was sitting in his lap, slender arms on his shoulders, delicate mouth pressed firmly against the base of his neck. Kurogane could have sworn the man was purring lightly as he suckled away. He had tilted his head back to expose his neck as fully as he could, and he rested his hands on the other man’s hips. It had not been bad, at first there was just a slight prick followed by a pleasure he had never experienced before. But now he was feeling faint, and he wanted the blonde off his neck before he passed out, because then who would stop him.

“That’s enough,” he ordered, using one hand to push the man slightly away by the chest. He must have ripped his own neck when he pushed him away so quickly because it hurt like hell. They were going to have to do something about his drinking problem. Fai pouted up at him with sad eyes, smears of Kurogane’s blood on the edges of his mouth. “You can’t drink my blood like you used to drink alcohol.”

“But Kuro-sama tastes better than alcohol!” and he lunged back for his neck. Kurogane caught him before he got too close and planted the man at a reasonably safe distance, though still keeping him on his lap. He was a bit reluctant to let him go too far away.

“You only think that because I’m the only thing you’ll be able to taste ever again,” he scolded, struggling to keep the man’s mouth away from any bare flesh.

“I’m not disappointed in that, are you, Kuro-chan?” he asked, trying to nip at Kurogane every two words. “Besides, aren’t you the one who said would do anything so that I could live?”

“You’re going to kill me if you drink too much at once.” That seemed to settle the man down slightly, and his teeth stopped a few centimeters away from one of Kurogane’s fingers. He pulled sheepishly away and tried to slip out of Kurogane’s lap, but the ninja kept both hands firmly on his waist. “You’ll have to learn to drink responsibly. My life is in your hands just as much as yours is in mine.”

Fai wrapped his arms back around his neck and snuggled back up against it, thankfully keeping his fangs tucked away. “Will Kuro-sama teach me then?”

Kurogane felt a brief moment of panic when the man started licking his neck. He may have been prepared to give his life for the other man’s, but he wasn’t ready for something like this. He felt the heat rise to his face, and he almost shoved the man out of his lap. Fai must have noticed him tense because he pulled away to look up at him with a sad expression. He felt like a fool when he realized he had only been licking away the blood that had dribbled onto his neck.

“Sure, I’ll teach you,” he patted Fai awkwardly on the head. “Besides, you’re an adult. It’s about time you learn to drink responsibly.” At least he would never have to deal with the blonde’s drunken antics ever again. Of course, the blonde would never be able to drink at all, which meant no more all night drinking sessions for the two of them. Maybe he should be considerate and limit his drinking in front of the mage.

“Can we start right now?” Fai asked, launching himself back towards Kurogane’s neck. There was a brief struggle, but Kurogane finally managed to get him away without losing any more blood.

“You’ve already had enough for one evening,” Fai pouted and crawled out of Kurogane’s lap. He suddenly felt very lonely even though the blonde was still right there. “And no midnight snacks until you’ve learned to drink responsibly,” he warned. “We’ll see how I’m feeling tomorrow.” He reached out for him but drew his hand back almost instantly. Despite the intimacy of the feeding, he still felt uncomfortable touching him at any other time of day. “If you don’t learn to control yourself, you’ll be limited to one feeding every three days.”

“But then I won’t get to touch Kuro-seisan as much as I would like to.” Before Kurogane could even think of a response, blood loss slowing down brain activity and all that, the man stood and continued, “Ah, I think I should prepare dinner for you and the children,” before sauntering off to the kitchen where the children had already started the dinner.

“Wipe your mouth first!” he shouted after him. Too late, he already heard Sakura gasp from the other room. Ah well, she would have to get used to it eventually. She had walked in on them during one of the first feeding sessions. He wasn’t sure if it was Fai’s sucking blood out of Kurogane’s neck, or Fai’s writhing body, or Kurogane being unable to control his own bodily reactions, or a combination of everything, but the poor girl had fainted to the floor. That’s why they had started doing it at times when the children were least likely to walk in on them and never in their direct presence. Eventually they were all going to have to deal with the fact that Fai would no longer be eating the meals he prepared for them and would only be feasting on Kurogane’s blood. He thought it was Fai who would have to do the most adjustment, though the blonde seemed to have fallen easily into a life of sucking on Kurogane for survival, he thought as he gingerly felt the spot where Fai liked to feed from.

He should be going to grab his own dinner soon, after all, he needed to eat to stay healthy for two of them, but he couldn’t find the energy to stand up. He heard dishes clattering from the next room as Syaoran and Sakura started on their own meals. Damn, he really did need to curb the blonde’s drinking. He could not afford to be feeling this lethargic whenever they traveled to a more dangerous world again. He was responsible for two lives now. He tried to struggle to his feet, but he collapsed back to the couch. He was just too tired anymore. He hadn’t thought about that when he agreed to this arrangement. Of course, the only thing he had thought about at that time was saving Fai’s life any way he possibly could.

“Kuro-sama, don’t you want any dinner?” Fai popped back into the room wearing a worried expression with a tray of food in his hands. At least the idiot had the decency to wipe the blood off his face. He came over and set the tray down on the coffee table before sitting down next to him, warm thigh pressing against his. “I’m sorry. This is my fault you keep feeling like this,” he said softly.

“No, it’s fine.” He sat up a bit straighter and rebuttoned his collar. He thought this was one of the moments when he should take the man’s hand or pull him close, but he settled instead on the ruffling the blonde locks. “You’re new at this,” he said in an effort to console him. “You just need to learn to drink in moderation.”

Fai picked up the fork, placed some food onto it, and pressed it insistently against Kurogane’s mouth. He allowed the blonde to feed him. He figured it was only fair the blonde fed him every once in a while considering he had dedicated his life to feeding the annoying mage.

After he finished eating, he went to bed after saying goodnight to the other three. Syaoran looked indifferent which ceased to surprise him, and Sakura looked nervous and inquired about his health. He didn’t feel like explaining to her that he was probably going to feel like this for quite a while since her mother was reduced to living solely on daddy’s blood.

He refused to feed Fai over the course of the next few days, and the blonde didn’t seem too insistent about it, though he did ask when Kurotan was going to start teaching him how to drink responsibly. His lack of appetite only proved to Kurogane that the man had been drinking too much during their initial moments.

He had been sleeping much deeper recently, but he was still awakened when he felt Fai kissing his neck and nibbling at it though not deeply enough to draw blood yet. “What the hell are you doing?” he mumbled, rolling over onto his back before realizing that gave the blonde easier access to his neck.

“I want a midnight snack,” he whispered, lowering his fangs to Kurogane’s throat. The ninja felt a slight moment of unsettlement, and he pushed the blonde away by the chest.

“I thought I told you no midnight snacking.”

“I figured it would be alright if I woke you up first so you could limit my drinking, Kuro-oyatsu.”

“Don’t call me that!” He was starting to think those nicknames were worse than all the other ones combined. He would have gladly paid money to hear him call him Kuro-puppy or daddy one more time. Just because he was the man’s food source didn’t mean he had to refer to him as such.

“Just a small one,” he insisted sultrily. Kurogane moved his hand from the mage’s chest to bury itself in the silken locks as he slowly lowered his mouth to Kurogane’s neck. The slight piercing which elicited a small gasp was followed by the complete ecstasy as Fai started to drink from him.

“That’s enough,” he instructed, a little bit rougher than he intended it to sound. He did manage to be gentle when he pushed him away, though that was mostly because he did not want to rip his own neck again. That could potentially be far worse for him than if Fai accidentally drank too much.

He managed to get the man a relatively safe distance away, but almost instantaneously, “But Kuro-chan tastes so good!” and he lunged back for the ninja’s neck.

He managed to stave him off, though he was fairly certain the blonde had gotten at least another taste. When they were finally separated, Fai was on his stomach on the other side of the bed, and Kurogane was sitting as he watched him warily, trying to ignore his own panting, indication that the blonde was getting stronger since he didn’t seem to be physically affected by the struggle at all.

“You’re the one who did this. I never wanted things to end up this way. How do you think it makes me feel to watch the way I make you suffer? This was all your fault.” It was the first accusation he had received from the waif, and he was certain he deserved much more than what the man was giving him. But Fai seemed to have stopped the verbal accusation for the time, and he had curled himself into a ball on the opposite side of the bed. Kurogane thought the mage might have been crying or really angry for he could just make out the slight shake of his shoulders.

“Listen, it was my choice. I was willing to offer anything to her for your survival.”

“But now you’re suffering more because of it.” Definitely crying; he had caught sight of the wet trail gleaming in the moonlight when the man had lifted his head slightly though he was still refusing to look at Kurogane.

“No.” He finally built up the courage to wrap his arms around the other man, pulling the thin frame close to his body. He could feel the trembling in the small limbs, hear his sobbing as he continued to cry. “I would have suffered infinitely more if you would have died.”

A few weeks later, Sakura worked up the courage to ask Fai how his feeding was going as she oh so delicately put it. Kurogane had been surprised, mostly because the question had come from the princess and partially because she had untactfully found the courage to ask while three of them had been busy trying to eat.

“Just fine, Sakura-chan, thank you. Kuro-seisan and I have worked out a system where one day a week I get one large meal and the other days I get three small meals a day. And since I have successfully learned to drink responsibly, I am also allowed the occasional midnight snack, just as long as I don’t wake Kuro-oyatsu.” The man must be getting hungry. Usually the first indication was when he started referring to Kurogane solely by the food nicknames. Well, he hadn’t eaten his dinner yet; he usually opted to let the others eat first before feasting on Kurogane.

“Um,” Sakura blushed and Kurogane placed his fork down on his plate, fearing the worst when the princess was fidgeting that way. “What’s it like?”

It was a good thing he had stopped eating because as far as he was concerned she might as well have just asked what sex was like for them. He watched Fai carefully to see how “mommy” would handle the situation. “I’ll tell you when you’re older,” he said with a grin, and Sakura looked even more confused.

She blushed a deeper red, and Kurogane felt the first twinges of panic in his stomach. He wondered if all parents experienced something like this at some point in their lifetimes. “Can I watch?”

“I suppose it is dinnertime,” Fai said, looking thoughtful for a brief moment. “Is that alright with you, Kuro-seisan? I promise to drink responsibly so you can just continue eating without worrying about me.”

He didn’t get the chance to respond, since Fai seemed to be getting his revenge by making all other minor decisions for the both of them, and Fai grabbed Kurogane’s hand and pulled the wrist towards his mouth. Syaoran politely avoided looking at them, but Sakura kept her eyes on Fai’s fangs with an almost morbid fascination. Kurogane kept his focus on his dinner as Fai sunk those fangs into his wrist which didn’t get as much of a reaction from the food as it did when Fai drank from his neck. Sakura picked at her food while paying more attention to the scene across from her, Syaoran pointedly looked at everything else in the room, and Kurogane calmly finished his own meal while Fai sucked happily from his wrist. Yes, it was just an average family meal. At least the blonde had finally learned to drink responsibly.

I think the KuroFai fic is well-written. I thought you were indicating Fai's alcohol drinking problem initially (cos' indeed he's not a good drinker). I guess a part of me is still trying to deny the fact that Fai has become a vampire..

I thought the theme fit well since he does have a drinking problem when it comes to alcohol, so I just assumed he would have the same problems with his new drink of choice.

The KuroFai is great!

Now you have me thinking though--who has Kamui been feeding on while he has been in Tokyo? He can't have been draining anyone to the point where they can't fight because that would have been impractical in that society. Kamui's companions don't even seem to really know that he is a vampire or, if they do know, it means nothing to them, which indicates that Kamui is not an extraordinary drain on their resources. Hmmm...

He's been feeding off of Fuuma's crew. Fuuma has been specifically breeding people to feed to Kamui to keep his lover alive.

Or he's been feeding off of Nataku, and that's why he was such a bitch.

Actually, he has Keiichi hidden away somewhere to be used both as a food supply and sex toy.

Thanks for the comments!

I loved the whole thing, but I must say that the beginning scene is deeeefinitely my favorite.

The end is so crackified though! I was dying with laughter. I can't even imagine it, but it was so funny.

CLAMP needs to give us something like the beginning scene... Sexy KuroFai feeding scene....

I can only imagine what dinnertime is going to be like now...

The KuroFai fic was very good! ^_^ It really makes me wonder how they'll do the feeding in the manga.
E'ka: canonrapeekas on August 18th, 2006 04:44 pm (UTC)
I don't know how they're going to do, but I'm hoping that they'll have Fai feed from the neck. Preferably while sitting in Kurogane's lap.

Though knowing my luck they'll never show an actual feeding. Just the moments right before.

Knowing CLAMP, That's exactly what they'll do ^_^

Aw, I love the Kuro/Fai one! The food nicknames were really cute! I wonder if CLAMP will think of that too... Lolm anyway, great job!

CLAMP already owns my soul. I would probably go be their slave if they decided to use any food nicknames.
